Daycare Room Lead (2 Year OLD Provision)

Hours: 37 hrs per week. ‘All year round’ or ‘Term time only’ available. Permanent.

Grade: Scale 5

Salary:

  • All year round: £28,598 - £30,024 (SCP 12-15).
  • Term time only: £23,858 - £25,047 (SCP 12-15)

Whitburn Village Primary are seeking to appoint a committed and highly effective Early Years Practitioner to manage the 2-3 Year-Old provision. The successful candidate will assist the Early Years Lead in supporting the aims and the objectives of the Early Years.

This is an exciting and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of the evolving childcare landscape, alongside the ability to implement and support outstanding early years practice. The successful applicant will hold a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (Early Years Educator or equivalent) that meets current DfE/EYFS criteria and includes a Level 2 English qualification. Qualifications must be recognised to count in the EYFS staff: child ratios.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A strong and up-to-date understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, alongside a positive, flexible and adaptable approach.
  • The ability to deliver high-quality care and engaging learning opportunities for children aged 2 to 3 years old.
  • A commitment to inspiring curiosity, enthusiasm and a love of learning in young children.
  • High expectations for children’s development and experience of working collaboratively within an EYFS team.
  • A commitment to fostering a safe, nurturing, inclusive and respectful environment for all children.
  • The ability to work in close partnership with parents, carers and the wider community.
  • The capacity to lead and support a small staff team, providing effective guidance and supervision to ensure high standards of practice.
